I am posting the Guardian article as an example of extremely poorly informed journalism. The author clearly does not understand rare earth mining, processing, or utilization technologies. In addition the author knows nothing of modern mining technology's health and safety requirements in the West. The Holy Duopoly, MP and Lynas, are vastly over-rated as the answer to the West's prayers for independence from China.
