Almost all drivers want to see something done, with 87% supportive of the Government’s plan to conduct more research into the issue and the same proportion wanting changes to headlight regulations to improve the situation.

Drivers say dazzling headlights problem is getting worse
The latest RAC driver survey published today revealed that 94% of the 1,745 respondents get dazzled by the headlights of oncoming vehicles. https://t.co/RmtrRVnIoo
Brake lights are also a problem, with four-in-10 drivers (38%) saying they get dazzled by the brake lights of vehicles in front of them. In addition, a quarter of drivers with adaptive driving beam systems think they increase the risk of dazzle to other road users.
Health warnings about blue LED lights were first issued ten years ago. The US Medical Association says they can inhibit the body’s ability to produce melatonin – a sleep regulator and powerful antidote to prostate and breast cancers that are dependent on hormones.
