@kigitomora2@KinderheimRune@jmhorp When AI becomes advanced enough to make biodiversity a major investment, there will be a lot of pressure to pacify the region so it can be exploited. Initial efforts will probably focus on Madagascar since it has a lot of endemic species and is an island.

@emmysteuer Isn't the emphasis on scaling driven by the lack of real discoveries needed to do those things? It depends on whether the current form of AI can generate those discoveries or it stagnates and eventually gets replaced by AI that can or humans figure those things out.
@flowersslop I'm curious what roon and Joshua Achiam's threat models are. Roon sounds consistent with a model making a bad call about cybersecurity. Achiam could mean AI making world-destabilizing discoveries.
