(Something I randomly wrote yesterday because I love getting lost in introspection and somehow felt called to share it tonight)
I think it's only natural to feel hopeless sometimes. Seeing other people working so hard, pushing through their struggles without ever seeming to complain like it's nothing, as if they just had a complete happy life, you find yourself thinking, "I wish I could have that kind of mindset", "I wish I could be as strong, as happy, as lucky" and so on. But I think we often forget that even the people we look up to have their own moments of helplessness and weakness too. Even when everything seems to be going well in their lives or even living in a dreamlike present, they might still be struggling with self-doubt, questioning themselves in ways we could never imagine, while we sit there feeling foolish for not being able to be "as strong", "as good".
From your neighbour to your favourite internet idol, at the end of the day, I think we are all much more alike than we realize. And there is something beautiful about that.
Every single person is fighting their own battles, moving at their own pace, stumbling through their own highs and lows. We all have moments when we feel lost, when we question ourselves, when the thought of giving up crosses our minds. And yet, somehow, we find the strength to get back up, to keep moving forward, to smile again, and to keep fighting for the things we love. Through this quiet but strong chain of actions, seen through the eyes of others, unintentionally, we become the light for one another, and so it goes, passing from one person to the next, a never-ending chain of hope.
Isn't that something beautiful?
So, even if this might seem like a silly thought, I hope that you, the one reading this, if you are going through a difficult time right now, can find a little comfort in knowing that you are not alone, beyond the cliché of these words. That the struggles you are facing are not yours to bear in isolation, and that even the people you admire have days when they feel just as lost as you do.
We are all just trying our best, in our own ways, to make it through the day. And perhaps there is something truly beautiful in knowing that we are all in this together, even when the world sometimes would rather leave it unspoken to hold ourselves to a higher standard. Just like the stars scattered across the night sky, each shining with its own intensity through its own darkness, miles apart and unaware of the struggles the others endure to keep their light alive. Each believing itself to be just a tiny, solitary light in an endless universe, never realizing that, together, in the big picture, they create something truly beautiful.
Perhaps that's the beauty of us too. We are all gods of our own little worlds, each with the power to nurture our own light, to find beauty in our own existence and create a life that feels worth living. Because self-fulfillment and happiness was never about having a life untouched by darkness, but about learning to see the light within ourselves, even on the days when it feels almost impossible to find.
