It touches on the key roles of NL ships in the supply & operation of Scotland's lighthouses. The exhibition tells of the fascinating & rich history of the @NLB_UK Ships.

On Sat 20th & Sun 21st Sept entry to the Museum & Lighthouse is FREE. 
The Museum will be open 10am-5pm with tours leaving every 10 mins!
Your FREE ticket must be obtained from the Museum reception first!
We have put together a display of classically inspired lighthouse objects including our fabulous ‘Skerryvore lamp’!
All typical of Alan Stevenson’s interest in the classical world.
AILSA CRAIG
Our Wednesday Lighthouse is Ailsa Craig, located on an island off Girvan.
Ailsa Craig is known for the quarrying of granite to make curling stones!
Its 3rd Order lens from is a part of our Recognised Collection of National Significance and will be rebuilt soon!
VE DAY COMMEMORATIONS
Kinnaird Head Lighthouse is decorated with signal flags to celebrate the 80th Anniversary VE Day!
The flags will stay up for the remainder of the day!

2025 promises to be a pivotal year for us as we get to work on our new exhibition area and continue to move forward. We can't think of a better 30th Birthday present to ourselves!
If you’re looking for something to do on a miserable day you will now find our ticket office up at Kinnaird Head Lighthouse!
The Lighthouse is open 5 days a week, Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-4pm!
For Remembrance Day we are exhibiting a red light in the form of a poppy for a second night from the historic Kinnaird Head Lighthouse, 8pm to midnight.

As of today the Museum building will be closed to visitors until Spring 2025.
The good news is that the LIGHTHOUSE remains OPEN for tours, 5 days a week!
