At the beginning, Saudi and MENA talent in general didn’t have a real opportunity to prove themselves in Call of Duty Challengers. That changed when Challengers brought the MENA and European regions together.
I understand why MENA was initially combined with Europe. At the time, there wasn’t a clear understanding of the region’s competitive level or its true potential.
However, MENA proved its strength as soon as it got the opportunity:
1.Major 1 Champions.
2.Major 2 Runners-up.
3.Qualified for the Call of Duty League Pro-Am.
4.Elite Champions.
All of these achievements were accomplished by a team of four Saudi players. This doesn’t even include the performances of other Saudi players who were competing in their first season and gaining valuable experience.
Now that MENA has its own separate region, I would like to thank the Call of Duty League administration for making this decision.
However, the lack of Elite tournaments for MENA could negatively impact the region’s competitive level. Without Elite tournaments, teams will have no opportunity to qualify for the Pro-Am, and there will be no proper balance in team seeding for LAN Majors.
I strongly hope that Elite tournaments will be introduced for the MENA region to give teams more opportunities to compete, qualify for the Pro-Am, and continue developing the region’s competitive scene.
I hope the league will consider the needs of the MENA region and provide the opportunities necessary to build a stronger and more competitive scene.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards.
