@EmericanJohnson I'm all for that but that comment sounds as if that person would not have created a good translation anyway. I don't mean to offend but translating is not only a lot of work, it requires a specific set of skills that go way beyond knowing two languages.

@RichardEvans36 Leaving aside questions of hegemony and epistemicide related to ideas of 'proper' English in academia, 'nativeness' does not equal expertise and vice versa. I'm a non-native English speaker and I correct/improve (academic and other) texts written by 'native' English speakers.
