This year, I embraced a challenge that was completely outside my comfort zone: taking on an acting role. 🎭
As someone who thrives on structure and familiarity, the idea of performing in front of others initially felt intimidating. But here’s what I learned:
These lessons translated into other areas of my life, especially in approaching challenges at work. Growth happens outside your comfort zone. Sticking to what you know is easy, but growth requires pushing boundaries. The payoff? A stronger, more resilient version of yourself.
Breaking the ice can be nerve-wracking in a room full of people or even around people.
A lot goes through one's mind, from what to say to whether it is right and how everyone else will perceive it. You also do not want to make the air more awkward.
Some questions that I find very helpful for me are:
How was your flight? Did you have to fly into town?
“How can we better support each other during busy periods?”
“What’s a project or idea you’re excited about right now?”
As I continue to chart my career path, I carry these lessons to help shape my decisions and aspirations.
