I'll pick you clovers and you'll pick me vines
We see the fauna decay inside the tree stumps,
I'll watch for the mycelium as it creeps into your bloodstream
And you'll warn me a moment too late,
as the spores get into your lungs
Please tell me someone else remembers the aughts of the '10s when Google glass tried to be a thing and everyone called them "glassholes" and laughed the idea out of existence
Please does anyone else remember this
meta glasses? you mean pervert glasses? you mean pedo glasses? you mean groper glasses? you mean loser glasses? you mean creep glasses? you mean sicko glasses? you mean predator glasses? you mean groomer glasses? you mean molester glasses? you mean stalker glasses? you mean scumb
That thing creditors and loaners do where you make the payment, the money leaves your account, and then a day later they make a "credit adjustment" where the hundreds of dollars you just paid actually don't count. And no you don't get your money back.
I have this fringe belief that the Internet is actually critical infrastructure and access to it is a necessity like, say, food. I can't do banking without Internet access, so on and so forth. I think the "elite" believes this too - which is why i think they're removing access.
I also think two years from now the Internet will be so vastly different as to almost be unusable. We're already seeing it happen in the UK. I guess my question is, what exactly can be done? The US is not a democracy, so it's not like "making your voice heard" is really an option
we're all rightfully angry about KOSA, but let's not forget that the FCC also wants to force everyone to show an ID to buy a cell phone plan. remember, the US is a country where ID isn't necessary to buy a gun
Controversial opinion but someone having an accent that you can't understand is not the speakers fault or problem. And pitching a fit about it can be racist, depending
Anonymous communication has protected whistleblowers, journalists, dissidents, abuse victims, and ordinary Americans for generations. In fact, our country was founded by anonymous speakers.
The FCC should not create a de facto phone registry in the name of fighting robocalls.
we live in age of great moral panics about things that don’t matter and zero moral outrage over some of the most egregious societal sins we’ve ever seen
