Douglas County will now charge a $100 fee when an ambulance responds to a call but the patient is not taken to the hospital.
County leaders say the new fee will help cover the cost of thousands of ambulance calls that do not result in a hospital trip each year.

Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
RIP John West — he passed away recently from natural causes.
John West was an autistic adult who had been abused and neglected by a previous caretaker. Des (@/waxesbydes_) found him in poor conditions, became his legal guardian, and took him in. Under her care, his health and life improved significantly. He gained independence, worked, attended college, and enjoyed family time with Des and her daughter Eliana. He had autism plus other serious underlying health issues.
Per @TheSteinLine:
• Atlanta is one team to keep an eye on if Jaylen Brown becomes part of Boston’s pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo, with some around the league believing the Hawks would have real interest in Brown.

Darryn Peterson’s representation is telling teams at the NBA Combine he views himself as a point guard, per @ShamsCharania.
This is notable as it relates to potential fits with the Wizards (Trae Young) and Jazz (Keyonte George).
Louisville's Mikel Brown measured 6'3.5 barefoot and 190 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine, with a 6'7.5 wingspan and 8'9.5 (*) standing reach.
Strong numbers across the board. Brown has grown four inches and added 36 pounds over the past three years, including a half inch and 8 pounds this season.
*likely typo
Arkansas' Darius Acuff measured 6'2 barefoot and 186 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine, with a 6'7 wingspan and 8'2.5 standing reach.
In line with past measurements. Not the biggest or longest guard around, but certainly not any kind of deal-breaker.
