A message from your friendly (albeit frustrated) neighborhood psych lady:
You reap what you sow. A mind can only take so many cheap shots, escalations, and crossed lines before it breaks, and “I thought they were stronger” is just a way to skip that completely.
If the boundary was blatant.. missing it was not confusion. It was convenient for your own person gain. Justifying what you would rather not own is not the same as not having done it.
Their collapse is not proof they were weak. It is sometimes proof you kept going after the limit was already clear. So it's YOU that is the problem, not the other person was weak.
People need to get the hell over themselves, seriously..

There is something telling in the decision to describe a man currently hospitalized after an overdose as weaker than you expected. There is something equally telling in the casual assertion that anything involving the family required your approval, and in the admission that you took cheap shots, escalated conflicts, and pushed him—followed, almost immediately, by a return to your own pain, your reputation, and how others see you.
You do not need to invite judgment. The framing is already doing that work. This is not the moment to assess his strength, manage the narrative, or explain your conduct. It is the moment to leave him his dignity and keep the focus where it belongs.
The more you write, the more the center of gravity shifts toward you, and the less sympathetic that shift becomes. At some point the more useful exercise is not another clarification, but a quieter question: what you contributed, what you escalated, and what you might have done differently before it reached this point.
And just to add this: NO ONE is tarnishing his tribe we got his back.
However, tarnishing YOU is completely on tonight's agenda. So how about taking you head out of your own ass for 2 seconds and truly take some accountability for YOUR PART in all this, not just your "sarcastic" take on the situation.
Okay, psychoanalysis over.... for now.
@OpossamCogaidh I’m so sorry y’all are going through so much right now. I’ll definitely be praying for both of you. You don’t have to explain anything, just know I’m thinking about you and hoping things get a little easier soon. ❤️
Basically, some people don’t have a constant voice in their head, and some people also can’t really picture things mentally. That doesn’t mean they’re not thinking. Their brain may work more through ideas, feelings, instincts, memories, or just a sense of “knowing” something without hearing a sentence in their head or seeing a picture.
That’s the part that’s hard to imagine if your brain is really verbal or visual. Like, if I tell you to picture an apple, you might actually see one in your mind. Someone with aphantasia may see nothing, but they still know exactly what an apple looks like. Same with reading. They can love a book, understand the characters, follow the story, and feel everything happening without actually “seeing” the scenes like a movie in their head.
The schizophrenia comparison is not truly the opposite. There are theories that some hallucinations involve the brain having trouble figuring out where a thought or voice came from, and not realizing that it's actually coming from their own mind and not some "other source"
So really, the weird part is that people can have totally different inner experiences and still function the same way on the outside. We all kind of assume everyone’s brain works like ours until somebody casually says, “I don’t have an inner voice,” and we can't grasp that being an actual thing.
@ttunlehs You know you got me @Boners_McCoyMD in your corner. NEVER hesitate to call, text, send rude gestures, whatever makes you feel a little less numb in the moment. Continuously praying!! Love you guys!
@CultLaser@SubtxtBastiaan I mean… aren’t we already in societal collapse? 😂 At this point we’re basically just waiting for someone to officially announce it so we can stop pretending this is all normal.
@JtotheAY@Boners_McCoyMD Well, I mean it can cause EPS (jerks and twitches, things like that) and neurotoxicity but I mean these fuckers are pretty neurotic to begin with so.... at that point, it's more of pros vs cons thing than a ethical dilemma 🥴😆
@Boners_McCoyMD@JtotheAY Just imagine some kid 300 years from now having to write a 10-page paper on what people were like in the 2020s, and their primary source is a 7-second TikTok with Subway Surfers playing underneath it for no reason and half the context buried in the comments.
Thank you so much for this babe!! But, you are leaving out one HUGE thing.... there is NO WAY I would have been able to go this far without your love and support. I know there's been a lot of late nights, dealing with my panicking mood swings, wins and losses but you never left my side and you deserve so much credit and more for everything you've done! I love you and I guess it's time to move on to that Doctorate! :)
