@ImYouthSoccer Comments re: players in some states regularly playing in -30F temps ignore common sense.
Those players only play in extreme temps b/c they have to - they have no choice.
USA is a huge country, so why *choose* freezing conditions?
Def not b/c it’s best for players.
Nonsense.
@ImCollegeSoccer Truth of this may vary from state to state but in my state it’s 💯 true.
4x State Champ Team, several ECNL players, 1 is a G’Rade POY - they crushed teams made of players who only played HS & no Club.
& not a single 2025
or 2026 is committed to play college soccer at any level.
I thought this would hurt more than 2016 but it doesn't.
That was a shock. This is just confirmation.
We now know that 2016 wasn't a fluke or an aberration, that this is what the majority wants: whiteness, patriarchy, nationalism, hatred, nihilism.
Whether I want to spend the rest of my life in such a place is something my mind isn't prepared to consider.
Right now, I just know that I'm seeing the nation with my eyes fully open and there is no mistaking what so many people I Ioved and once respected, actually value.
As heartbreaking as that is, I now know where they stand, and I know it's nowhere I want to be.
Or maybe many Americans are comfortable with an autocrat who makes them feel more worthy because they have the "right genes" and aren't vermin like those immigrants.
When segregationists won many elections in the South, I don't think it was because of economic anxiety or the Vietnam War or jobs.
There’s a saying for everything. And tonight’s comes from one my mom tells me often, “Sometimes God’s own thunder couldn’t make someone do the right thing.”
It’s actually the reverse, of course. The only way a convicted criminal, found liable for sexual abuse, who incited an armed insurrection could win again is because millions of Americans live in an information bubble and believe things that are manifestly and demonstrably untrue.
Donald Trump has won the presidency. Enough of the country has chosen to re-elect a convicted felon who denied our elections and denigrated entire swaths of our people.
We can’t erase what we’ve embraced as a nation today. I pray for our country and the world.
So it wasn't the economy, it wasn't revitalizing manufacturing, it wasn't wages, it wasn't jobs, it wasn't the stock market, it wasn't health care.
It was hatred.
That's what did it.
Paul Rudd showing up at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to bring students water while they were getting ready to vote made me so happy!
He's a national treasure!
I want Kamala Harris to win because of her policies and the way she would represent our country.
I also want her to win so this Trump era can come to an end. This is one of the ugliest decades in modern history.
