A disturbing op-ed in the MIT Technology Review recently argued for the creation of lab-grown “spare” human bodies that they call “bodyoids.”

These would essentially be human bodies created from human stem cells, but supposedly without brains or consciousness. They say they would revolutionize medical research and drug testing and create an unlimited supply of organs.

What a gruesome proposition.

What does it say about our society when leading scientists and professors at Stanford University are entertaining these ideas as if they're perfectly normal or reasonable things to debate or think about?
