This program is having a huge impact here in New York. @SenSchumer Congress should do everything in its power to keep it funded. Over 1.6 million New York households rely on the ACP for remote learning, telehealth, work and more. https://t.co/lh5ZfdScAZ
This #APAHM, Upper Manhattan Asian American Alliance (@umasianalliance) founders Eva Chan and Lilian Chow spoke with Neighbors about their grassroots advocacy. https://t.co/lWkSmOpO4T
@estherkimlee@JohnHMcWhorter JM is way off. It's odd how he sees this in binary. I'd have Keon take a major's worth of As Am stds classes. Sit with the undergrads and write the papers. Hold forums where he can only listen. If he doesn't get straight As, he is unfit to lead an ed institution and must resign.
@CSISFreeman Asia is not a chessboard. It is made up of living, breathing human beings made of flesh like you, not a game for you to unpack or play. You should seriously rethink this name.
Let me give you a history lesson @JohnHMcWhorter. Making fun of Asians in the way Thomas L. Keon (Chancellor of Purdue University Northwest) did is unpardonably racist. A thread.

Today is the last day for Chinese Americans to fill out this nationwide survey to record their experience of hate crime and racial discrimination. Please help forward this along!
Researchers found that 23% of Asian New Yorkers lived in poverty in 2020, comparable to the rate of poverty experienced by Black and Latinx New Yorkers, and higher than the citywide average of 16% of all New Yorkers.https://t.co/5mjod99SJr
A very good window into why Chinese in NYC are now voting Republican, written by a Sunset Park native and son of Chinese immigrants. In short: crime, education, and the feeling that Democrats do not respect them.

@whitney_hu but Progressives cannot look the other way when racism happens ag Asian Americans. Natasha Williams has proven herself unfit to chair the Human and Civil Rts Comm. She should be removed @SandraForNY1@NYCCouncil and @VOCALNewYork needs to do a serious sit down w/this man.
Democrats "cannot steamroll an entire population when it comes to declaring sweeping changes to education and quality of life that affect communities – as the former de Blasio mayoral administration had done."
Well Said!
Asian American + Pacific Islanders comprise over 17% of NYC's pop. and are the fastest growing group in the country. @graceleefornyc and I make the case in @GothamGazette that Dems cannot continue to take AAPI voters for granted and must start delivering.

Outrageous that @ManhattanDA office allowed David Robinson a plea deal to Man 2 and get a light 1-3yr sentence in court today. Technically he can be released by tomorrow from jail for causing the death of Mrs Than Htwe at the Canal st subway station last year.
Kudos to the US and PRC for pulling off such a constructive meeting in Bali. Dare we hope that the Biden-Xi meeting marks the first signs of an inflection point that begins to decelerate the spiral towards conflict and makes room for tackling common challenges? A short thread:
@backuspf@moamohamud It's a good thing you choose to avoid asking racist questions. I thank you for that. If you really want to know someone's ethnicity, be clear about it and ask, What is your ethnic background? It's disingenuous to ask "Where are you from" when you really want to know ethnicity.
