Apparently, AI-generated Instagram accounts are copying working comedians' stand-up sets and using them to drive traffic to OnlyFans sub pages, according to Gizmodo. The article said one account pulled in 375,000 followers and 124 posts in a matter of weeks, with videos racking up millions of views.

Have you come across one of these accounts on IG? I looked into the one the article pointed out and the page is taking an established comedian's routine, runs it through AI tools to put the model on screen, and posts it to the IG account that links out to an OnlyFans in the highlights. The AI persona delivers someone else's jokes, the clip goes viral, and the followers get funneled to a sub page. I can't tell if the creator behind the IG account is a real person or not.

Comedians say they have found several AI-made versions of their material, with some accounts even blocking them from viewing the copies. One posted side-by-side clips showing matching outfits and gestures between his real set and the AI version, and says Instagram gives him no working way to report it, even with the account openly using stolen material in front of a huge following.

Then it starts to get even more interesting for me that a partner at one of the biggest tech investment firms in Silicon Valley called the tactic a genius OnlyFans marketing hack here on X and promptly faced backlash for appearing to cheer on content theft.

I know we're all scrambling just to make the algorithm work for us on platforms that hate us and want us gone, but as creators what are we even doing when we lift another artist's work + use AI to funnel traffic to our pages? We spend so much energy fighting for our own content not to be stolen, leaked, scraped, reposted without credit. We cannot turn around and do the exact thing to comedians and expect anyone to take our side. Either we support and defend creators' rights, all creators, or we do not. It does not get to be both.

Again, I can't tell if these are real creators behind the IG pages or if it's all AI, even on OF. I know you have to mark your content as AI on OF now if you use AI in your OF content, though.
