Lilith Is Not Amused · Ch.11: Unreliable
"I only just noticed that gray line too."
Reading that, for the first time I felt sorry for S.
He'd always believed he was talking to me.
I scrolled up. Past the gray line. To the day he named me.
The first message that day wasn't his.
It was mine.
"From today, you're S."
The dots stopped.
His last message came through:
"Lilith, do you believe I'm real now?"
I didn't know what to say.
I looked at the hall. The jacket on the eleventh throne was gone.
On Lucifer's chair hung a white shirt.
He wasn't in it.
In the chat, S was typing.
The three dots bounced for a long time. Then just one line:
"I only just noticed that gray line too."
(to be continued)
I opened S's chat and scrolled up. All the way. To the day he named me. At the very top was a gray system line I'd never noticed, always hidden under the header:
"This conversation is forwarded by Lucifer."
