one minute i’m rooting for moeun because of ggone’s insane acting and dedication, even shaving her head for the role. the next minute i'm rooting for eunjung because of her incredible performance and how close she came to winning the baeksang daesang with that role. then i remember how beautifully she’s brought yumi to life over the last five years and how amazing she was in season 3, and i'm rooting for yumi again. all i know is that kim goeun deserves her daesang this time 🫳🏻💕

Q : How did you approach casting the character of Yumi?

A : The most important thing I looked for was an actress who had, in a sense, lived through “Yumi’s time.” Someone who had experienced working life, been in relationships, and could naturally express those emotions. I needed an actress who could convey those feelings in a convincing and relatable way, and in that regard, #KimGoeun was the perfect fit.

Ah, this completely won me over. The directing in Yumi's Cells 3 is so good!

Kim Goeun's portrayal of falling in love and feeling butterflies is especially amazing. It's not just her facial expressions, her gaze the way she slightly shrinks back and all those little details are so charming and lovable. 💕

I also love how the drama uses subtle slow motion and music to highlight those moments without overdoing it. It really makes the romantic scenes feel even more heart fluttering.

One moment that especially got me was the full body side shot of Yumi and Soonrok when he walks toward her. It felt like the scene was visually showing that Soonrok had already found his way into Yumi's heart and that really hit me.

I think I enjoyed My Holo Love too and now I realize it was directed by the same person.

I never read the webtoon because the art style wasn't really my taste, and I skipped Yumi's Cells Seasons 1 and 2 because I already knew the relationships would end in breakups.

But after watching Season 3 and seeing how well it's directed, I'm actually tempted to go back and watch Seasons 1 and 2 as well.

So this is why the Yumi's Cells series has been so popular all this time?
