Should policy protect 15% or 85%?
Policy must support the majority. 85% of farmers manage their own seed. Laws that criminalize them undermine food sovereignty. #FoodSovereigntyUg#Agroecology

Good nutrition advice should be based on evidence, not misleading claims.
Mothers deserve accurate information to support their health and recovery after childbirth.
Industrial trans fats (iTFA) have no known health benefits. They raise bad LDL cholesterol and lower good HDL cholesterol, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Let’s eliminate industrially produced trans fats (iTFA), support front of pack warning labels (FOPWL), and restrict misleading marketing of unhealthy foods to protect Ugandans’ health.

Can we achieve food sovereignty without defending farmer seed?
Impossible. Seed is the first link in the food chain. Protect farmer seed, protect community rights, protect our food future. #FoodSovereignty#NoToBadSeedLaws

Laura Ahumuza on Nutrition guidelines for Children with Feeding Disabilities
Children with feeding disabilities can face increased risks of malnutrition, including underweight and stunting.
The new Nutrition Guidelines for Children with Feeding Disabilities aim to ensure that nutrition services work for every child, by strengthening health-worker capacity, empowering caregivers and integrating appropriate nutrition care into existing services.
We do not want to leave anyone behind.

Breastfeeding is prevention. So is clear food labelling.
One protects infants 0-6 months. The other protects children 6 months and beyond. @MinofHealthUG please pass mandatory Front of Pack Warning Labelling #CefrohtUg#FOPWL
The Uganda Nutrient Profile Model will help:
1. Identify unhealthy processed foods.
2. Support food regulations and nutrition policies.
3. Guide front-of-pack warning labels.

Uganda's Ministry of Health has an opportunity to set the standard for the East African region on food labelling. @MinofHealthUG pass a strong, mandatory Front of Pack Warning labelling regulation. #CefrohtUg#FOPWL
📢📢📢 HAPPENING NOW
Thank you to the @MinofHealthUG for giving Uganda the Nutrient Profiling Model, an important tool in preventing diet-related NCDs. Today, 33.2% of Ugandan adults are overweight or obese. We cannot wait until our young people are sick to act. Now we need Front-of-Pack Warning Labels so consumers can make informed choices.
