Today is the Old North Church’s 300th birthday! On April 15, 1723, masons laid the church’s cornerstone. Nine months later, the congregation held its first service.

We’re celebrating with free admission for anyone under 18 and a free public history program outside the church.

Did you know that the terms "uppercase letters" and "lowercase letters" come from the type cases used by printers?

Capital letters were kept in the upper sections of the case while lowercase letters were kept in the lower sections.
