@Hossylass @sophieRblake @LuxMeaMundiAM He could have requested it months earlier and not died choking on his own fecle matter and the people in the room nurses included wouldn't have been traumatised by his death. I would give up the last month for him to have had a peaceful death.

@RightToLifeUK Terminally ill people are nit suicidal. They are already dying and just want to have a choice in how that ending happens. Very different from someone wanting to take their own life due to mental health issues.

As soon as it started the staff explained that anti sickness doesn't work on fecle vomiting. This went on for the last 5 hours of his life, which he inhaled choked on and that is how my husband died.

@Hossylass @sophieRblake @LuxMeaMundiAM Yorkshire lass born and bred. The vomit continued to pour out of his mouth after he died. It had to go somewhere. I don't want anyone else to see their loved ones like that. It was horrific

@Hossylass @sophieRblake @LuxMeaMundiAM No, it needs to work in tandum. There is evidence of palliative care getting better alongside AD i think Sophie has sent you some info so I wont double up. I will say the care my husband has was exemplary, the fecle vomit was something no one could help

So we leave those people to it? We leave 20 other families a day traumatised? Thats around 7,300 people per year that have experiences like me

Sophie is spending her last years campaigning for people like herself to have Assisted Deaths to avoid going through the horror my husband did

@Louiseross64 @sharrond62 No its not. Guidelines are incredible strict which means that people die in horrendous pain or with horrific symptoms that can't be controlled. Do we just let them suffer

@danfrancis02 Well if we are using lived experience, as someone with PTSD, ADHD, and physical disabilities. I do not wish for someone to assume I do not have capacity. It would take away my bodily autonomy, to be frank to assume anything else is insulting and ableist

@danfrancis02 Assuming someone lacks mental capacity strips individuals of their autonomy, dignity, and human rights. It dismisses their ability to make choices about their own life. If we use it in one way what is to stop people using it in other ways. That is a danger to disabled people.

@BottProf Thats a twist. They actually maintain a neutral stance. They would like sufficient safeguarding and better palliative care which we all want and I believe the bill provides
