A story that gives you chills.

On the morning of October 7, Nisan de Kalo, the deputy security coordinator of Kibbutz Nahal Oz, immediately realized the scale of the attack. He locked his two children inside their safe room with one simple instruction: Do not open the door for anyone, no matter what. Then he went out to defend his community.

Soon after, his commander and close friend, Ilan Fiorentino, of blessed memory, was killed. Nisan assumed command of the kibbutz’s defense against dozens of Hamas terrorists.

As the fighting intensified, Nisan made a decision that, in his own words, shaped everything that followed: “I decided that I would not be taken alive to Gaza.” Armed at times with nothing more than a pistol, he fought for 13 straight hours, evacuated the wounded under heavy fire—even as his vehicle became covered in blood—and led the clearing of the kibbutz house by house. His actions helped save the lives of more than 400 residents of Nahal Oz.

Today, while still living with the trauma and pain of those events, Nisan has made another courageous decision: he has returned to live in his home in Nahal Oz. His message to Israel’s enemies is clear: “You dealt us a devastating blow, but you did not defeat us.”

While the world watches the war, the Islamic Republic of Iran hanged a 19-year-old boy today.

His name is Erfan Esfandiari and he was his parents' only child.

He did not kill anyone. He did not carry a weapon. His crime, according to the Islamic Republic, was opening a door. Sheltering protesters who were running from security forces. That was enough to send him to the gallows.

Erfan was one of 12 young men in the Alikhani Square case in Isfahan, arrested during the January 2026 uprising. Yesterday, all 12 were moved to quarantine. Today, the Islamic Republic hanged him.

This is a government that is so terrified of a generation that refuses to be silent, that it executes teenagers for the act of compassion.

Say his name. Because the regime is already trying to erase him. Because his mother and father are left with nothing, not even the right to grieve loudly.

Canada has no obligation to honour the misleading marketing of diploma mills, or the fraudulent promises of crooked overseas immigration consultants.

When you apply for and receive a study permit, you sign off multiple times clearly accepting the terms. It is *patently* clear to any responsible adult that they must leave at the end of their authorized period, and there is no promise from Canada, implicit or explicit, that their TRV will magically turn into permanent residency.

This is the kind of immigrant story that actually makes Canada stronger.

A guy who escaped Iran as a kid in 1989 just laid it out plain and simple. He came here and was blown away that parades were about Santa, balloons, and kids having fun — not tanks and missiles. He blended in. He didn’t get offended by pork on the BBQ or rainbow flags. He embraced it.

Now he’s watching newcomers show up and try to bring the exact same poisonous crap they ran from — getting angry at Canadian traditions, shoving religion down everyone’s throat, refusing to participate in something as basic as handing out Halloween candy, and trying to change the rules instead of joining the country that welcomed them.

His message is simple: Canada opens its arms. The least you can do is assimilate and mind your own business. If you’re not here to become Canadian, he’ll personally buy you the plane ticket home.

This is the difference between real immigration that built this country and the current mess that’s fracturing it. One group wanted to join Canada. The other wants to turn Canada into the place they fled.

We need more of the first kind. A lot less of the second.

Utterly pathetic.

The left has become so infantilized, and so enthralled by antisemitism, that it is now deemed “hurtful” to be in the presence of the Ambassador of the world’s only Jewish country.

The putative reason Nenshi gives for his humiliating statement is “civilian casualties” in Israel’s defensive war against Hamas, which executed the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and whose primary goal is the destruction of the Jewish state.

If civilian casualties in a just war make a country and its representatives pariahs, that would include Canada’s role in the two world wars, Korea, and Afghanistan.

Nenshi certainly couldn’t abide being in the presence of Winston Churchill or FDR.

I have seen @nenshi attend @CJPAC and other pro-Israel events for years, including this Stampede. So I expected better from him.

For shame.

Alberta NDP Leader @nenshi had a choice.

Ambassador Iddo Moed was in Calgary to showcase Israeli innovation — the kind of technology partnerships that would create jobs, save lives, secure people and generate economic opportunity for Albertans.

Nenshi chose his extremist base instead, the Keffiyeh-adorned Hamas apologists. The same base led by Heather McPherson and Avi Lewis who have made the NDP a vehicle for violent extremism.

He didn't just fail a test of leadership. He failed Albertans.
