I grew up in that house. So many memories of my grandmother making me & my cousins dinner, playing games, watching TV, eating ice crean sandwiches & texas toast, playing hide the key, sleeping on the floor next to her bed. It's all gone & she's outliving a 4th child. Devastating.
Being in my grandmother's home & seeing it in such disarray & seeing how far gone her mind has gotten since my grandfather died in 2011... is completely soul crushing. Now, with my uncle dying, she can't live there anymore. Idk what is going to happen. But I'm so fucking sad.
I'm so tired of my grandmother having to bury her children. She's outliving this entire family. Her husband and now a 4th child, gone. This isn't fair.
"When are you getting married?"
"When are you going to have kids?"
I'm so tired of being asked these things. I get it. I'm getting old. I get it. I'm running out of time. I GET IT. The anxiety and pressure is too much.
I know this may be asking a lot these days, but please let your heart break for this shell-shocked Palestinian boy.
Just allow your heart to break as he tries to hold back his tears and finally lets go.
Children are always innocent.
