Our open border with India is being misused.
Reports of large-scale movement of Bangladeshi/Rohingya Muslims entering Nepal raise serious concerns about illegal immigration, security, and strain on our resources.
Strong recommendations:
• Immediately strengthen border checks at all India-Nepal points (especially eastern borders like Kakarbhitta, Biratnagar/Rani).
• Make ID verification + biometric screening mandatory for all cross-border movement.
• Strictly enforce deportation of undocumented/illegal entrants — turn them back at the border.
• Coordinate with Indian authorities for joint border management and early intelligence sharing.
• Review and tighten visa/immigration rules to protect Nepali citizens first.
Nepal is a small country — we must secure our borders while remaining compassionate. National security and sovereignty come first.
