With the rapid slowdown in population, a likely reduction beginning sooner, and the migrations on the high there's absolutely no way our mighty public service now standing at 1.3 m could be sustained. Time is up we set plans for half the number.

BREAKING: Iran is threatening to widen the conflict across the Gulf.
An Iranian military source says Tehran has begun implementing a phased response plan that would escalate attacks if U.S. strikes on Iranian territory continue. The source warned that the campaign would ultimately target critical energy and water infrastructure across the region.
According to the same source, all power generation plants and water desalination facilities in Kuwait have now been placed on Iran’s target list as part of the first phase of the plan, warning that further U.S. military action would trigger broader strikes on regional infrastructure.
Politics must not get carried away with the upper middle income thing. Core is still severely wounded and the job creation is pretty bad to say the least. We need to create our own reserves stronger while backing up IT, apparel, agro n other exports to the hilt..
Former police chief Chandana Wickramaratne was shot at his home in Talahena this morning. He was about to go out for his jogging routine when he was shot in the chest. His own personal revolver had been returned at the time of his retirement. Investigations are underway.
BREAKING: Iran has directly instructed the Houthis to fully close the Bab el-Mandeb strait, with the Houthis having completed all operational preparations including deploying missiles and drones near the Strait, and are waiting for US strikes on Iranian power infrastructure to carry it out, per Reuters citing two senior Iranian sources.
IRGC representatives in Yemen will control the decision on when to carry out the Bab el-Mandeb closure operation. Combined with Iran’s ongoing Hormuz closure, this would disrupt both Middle East main oil export routes simultaneously, with Red Sea carrying around 7% of global energy supplies and Saudi Arabia having diverted 70% of its energy exports through Red Sea port Yanbu.
The Houthis warn this would push oil past $200.

Around this time every year I get emails and invitations to attend both college and corporate dinner dances, and every year, I do not attend.
I would much rather be shot in the kneecaps, have my feet tied to a chariot, and my body dragged through the dust behind the walls of Troy with Coldplay music playing in the background.
The thing is there are necessary rendezvous I subscribe to even if they are outside my comfort zone. But endorsing small talk, feigning camaraderie, and reconnecting with people once a year who haven't given a biscuit or a tinfoil hat about whether I've lived or breathed outside of these annual gatherings... hard pass.
I learned long ago to stop seeking validation and approval from people who add zero value to my life.
I would much rather spend that time with family, my bandmates, pets, or a handful of friends that actually value my time and enjoy my company.
Airstrikes hit Sanaa International Airport in Yemen, with the Houthis accusing Saudi Arabia of launching the attacks, breaking a four-year truce in the conflict between the kingdom and the Iran-aligned group https://t.co/iISgKWyMhm
Saudi Arabia is the largest exporter of oil out of the Middle East up until now because of their pipeline from the Gulf to the Red Sea.
However, the Houthis have closed the Red Sea and the Saudi are in a full scale war with them.
The Houthis are not going tit for tat. They are destroying Saudi Arabia. The airport is done.
This started because a plane carrying Houthis’ leaders were returning from Iran’s funeral on an Iranian plane. The US & Saudis had closed the Houthis’ airport for 10 years prior.
The first flight to land there was that Iranian plane to pick them up for the funeral. Upon return in this historic journey, while a gaggle of press watched on the tarmac, the Saudis bombed the runway as the plane was approaching.
They aborted the landing. Landed in a smaller unused airport safely.
So, it seems this was a photo op by the Saudis under instructions from Trump so that he can win the news cycle to feed his ego.
Well, it backfired tremendously. It will be 114 degrees in Saudi Arabia tomorrow. They’re in a desert. They rely on desalination plants to survive. If Ansar Allah destroys them then we will have a humanitarian crisis like Rwanda or Sudan.
The rich and wealthy will flee to leave the less fortunate to die.
