After 3 years, I can confirm this method still works in big 2026. This is how I manage to download my VODs that have muted parts without any muted parts at all.

How to unmute your muted part of Twitch VOD:

1) Go to Video Producer
2) Select VOD you want to unmute
3) Make a highlight of that unmuted part
4) As soon as highlight is public, download it - Might have to refresh page few times for it to work
5) Enjoy your now unmuted part
