Today at Holy Trinity Church, Longlevens, James Gilchrist joins the Linarol Consort for a programme of Pierre de la Rue, Marbrianus de Orto and Johannes de Stokem! @3choirs @Linarolconsort
Lots to look forward to at next year’s Worcester @3choirs Festival, launched by artistic director @samuelhudson8 & colleagues this evening - music by Judith Weir CBE, Bob Chilcott, Holst, Elgar (of course, in his home city), Grace-Evangeline Mason @G_E_Mason & more 1/2
Tonight, James Gilchrist is the Evangelist in Bach’s ‘St John Passion’ at the Three Choirs Festival, Gloucester. Geraint Bowen conducts the Corelli Orchestra.
The programme tells the story of a shipwreck that led to a chance meeting between Henry VII of England & Philip the Fair of Burgundy.
It includes music by 3 composers who were on the voyage - (Pierre de la Rue, Marbrianus de Orto & Johannes de Stokem) + Josquin & Henry VIII.
