Nothing adduced at the preliminary hearing proves Tyler fired the fatal shot. Alleged confessions may be misunderstood, coerced, incomplete or inadmissible. DNA proves contact, not when, why or who fired. Surveillance, vehicles, footwear and phone data establish presence, not murder. Family identification is not forensic proof. Texts, letters and Discord messages require authentication and context. Most critically, the rifle must be conclusively linked to the fatal wound. A pile of suspicious circumstances is not proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Every link still requires testing.
