2 mile bike ride today. Apparel:Polyester jersey, padded bike shorts, padded bike gloves & helmet. 50 yrs ago: 1500 mile bike trip. Apparel:t-shirt, cut-off jeans & tennis shoes. Things change, I guess.

July 1971: day two of bicycle trip from Minneapolis to Boston. Aunt Signe offers to have me stay with her in River Falls, Wisconsin and let the "boys" do the trip. Instead on to Menomonie and a flat tire or two. (To be continued...)
