🇳🇴🇺🇦I am currently on a working visit to Norway — a country that has consistently supported us since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. I am sincerely grateful for that. I held a series of meetings focused on key humanitarian issues.

▪️Meeting with @EivindVP, the State Secretary for the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs. I expressed gratitude for Norway’s co-chairmanship of the Working Group on the return of Ukrainians. We discussed further steps in this direction.

▪️Meeting with the Norwegian Parliament’s delegation to the @PACE_News, led by @ingjerd_schou. I emphasized the need to pressure Russia to grant international organizations access to the locations where Ukrainian children are being held in Russia or in temporarily occupied territories.

▪️Meeting with representatives of @save_children Norway, led by @HenrietteKWesth. I outlined the scale of violations committed by Russia against the basic rights of Ukrainian children. We discussed the potential role of the organization in helping return deported children.

▪️Meeting with @CecilieHellest1, the Special Advisor of the NIM (@NorwayUN), @LindemanBerit, the Secretary General of the @nhc_no, and @olaulmo, representative of the @rodekorsnorge. Among other topics, we discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of human rights protection.

☝️Norway is a reliable friend of Ukraine in the fight for justice. Our cooperation must only grow stronger. Effective international support is what saves lives.

For once, albeit accidentally, Putin has told the truth: long-term peace in Ukraine is only possible by “eliminating the root causes of this crisis.”

The main “root cause” is an old deranged KGB officer in the Kremlin who views the collapse of the Soviet empire as “the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the 20th century”, calls his opponents “national traitors” and Ukraine “an artificial state”, and idolizes Stalin and Andropov.

Without “eliminating” this “root cause” there will not be peace not only in Ukraine, but in Europe as a whole.
