An open public test will start later this week before the season begins.
Get ready to jump in, test the changes, and help us forge the next chapter of Calamity. 🐉
@gucci_gcc@onchainheroes@AbstractChain Yea, yea hit the mega jackpot. I've been on streaks of 15+ coins in a row with Sir Jackalot. 4 times already
You're either lucky or you're not
The 10-day @PlayCalamity test has concluded
4th place once again — this time in the Conqueror(speedrun)
Overall, a solid result. I reached the top 0.5% of all players, which means I’ll receive a legendary NFT
Although the test has ended, the game servers will remain available for a while. So if you haven’t had a chance to try the game yet, you still can
There are also rumors that the developers are planning a longer test with small rewards, allowing players to test the game regularly and help avoid issues during major events
62,000 Wyrm Shards per hour on difficulty 48. For comparison, on difficulty 10 you only get around 5,000 per hour
What am I talking about? The current PvE event in @PlayCalamity has already ended. However, the game is still open, and anyone can log in right now to test the game mechanics and classes, get a feel for the gameplay, and prepare for future tests
The game features several PvE leaderboards: Valor (the higher the dungeon difficulty, the more Valor and Wyrm Shards you earn) and Conquest, where you need to clear the highest difficulty
You have two main options:
Either farm easier difficulties, obtain key fragments and materials, and sell them on the auction house.
Or choose the second option — speedrun floors as quickly as possible. Farm more Wyrm Shards and earn a nice daily gold payout
I chose the second option for a chance to compete for the leaderboard, the project token, and NFTs. However, this approach is more expensive and significantly more challenging. The choice is yours
Another interesting 3v3 arena fight in @PlayCalamity
The opponents made the right decision and targeted the main damage dealer — the archer — from the very beginning
A few tips to win more often in the arena:
Teams have a limited number of lives — only 3. Killing the easiest target is enough to eliminate the rest of the team once, preventing them from respawning
Mages and warriors are quite hard to kill; they have both blinks and invulnerability skills, so focusing on the archer is usually the best strategy.
At the start of the match, I was immediately attacked by all three opponents, and I couldn’t do anything — I couldn’t even use a healing potion due to crowd control
Build your skills around survivability and crowd control — these are the most important aspects of the game. If you and your allies properly time your control abilities, you can keep the enemy locked down and eliminate them easily.
Don’t forget to use health potions. I recommend a potion that heals 60% instantly and another that restores 12% health over 15 seconds. You may also need a mana regeneration potion
Buy (or craft) and upgrade your equipment to at least +6. Upgrade scrolls are inexpensive these days, so reaching +6 shouldn’t be a problem.
Equip rare items (especially weapons, chestpieces, and headgear). Rare equipment has additional abilities that uncommon items don’t. Also, choose rings, a necklace, and a cloak that focus on survivability. Stats that increase health and stamina significantly improve your durability, making you much harder to kill — especially if you use health potions during combat
It’s crucial to perform well in your first 10 matches. These placement games provide the biggest rating boost, so if you win most of them, you’ll secure a strong position on the leaderboard for a long time
If you're playing @PlayCalamity and plan to be productive in future tests, I recommend purchasing a few cosmetic items. One to three will be enough to get a nice boost to all your character's stats
Right now, there are chests in the game with cosmetics that you can purchase for gold and get cool cosmetics. I opened a few chests and was incredibly lucky, getting the rarest cosmetic (Abyssal Arms 0.3%)
They'll be available for another three days, so hurry
There will also be a giveaway for unique NFTs among all chest buyers. One purchase = one ticket
Top 4 on the Valor leaderboard in @PlayCalamity
I'm a little behind, just a little short. It's a shame, but I'm not too upset
There's still the Conquest leaderboard left, so I'll try to secure a spot in the top 3
There are also five days of PvP events ahead. See you on the battlefield
