@mimimonger50 @rustyrockets He will no doubt have the opportunity to give his side of the story to the jury. I suspect he wouldn't have been prosecuted unless there was evidence that the CPS consider would persuade a jury he is guilty. I am certainly not saying anything about guilt or innocence.

@AnnabelGSteele I suspect his guilty plea had nothing at all to do with legal advice received, professional or otherwise. He attempted to offer a highly implausible story to the police and even he, dim witted as he obviously was, saw such a course was futile and tendered a plea accordingly .
