Why is acting so difficult to break into if you don't have money or contacts?

Some of this is self evident, but I wanted to articulate the key issues actors face when trying to build a career.

One of my favourite activities is looking back on my BeReals…like something about looking at the mundane day-to-day stuff and what I’ve done in the last few months is mad

"Queen consort" is what we should call straight girlies who accompany gays on gay nights out

[Fatt Butcher @FattButcher]

if you are cancelling an event or closing a venue last minute due to the monarch dying, then it is absolutely essential that you still pay freelancers and staff on 0 hours contracts for the work they were booked for.

It really is that simple.

Us FOH folk have been asking for this for a while now! Getting shouted at by patrons when we ask them to be quiet or stop filming ain’t it and this would make our jobs so much easier

[All That Dazzles @ATDazzles]

Following my horror show at @moulinmusicaluk last night, people keep mentioning this and they have a point: why isn't there a preshow announcement like most others?
Something like "Hello chickens. Please don't try to sing along and turn off your phones".
That could help so much!

[Dr Florence H R Scott @FlorenceHRScott]

As a non-binary historian of medieval women my real take on non-binary Joan of Arc is that literally any time we prescribe a gender label to someone in the past we are making an assumption that is muddied by modern conceptions of the gender binary.
