@airdna With @OwnerRez , I found that my non-ideal guest was a convicted felon and embezzler! @airbnb removed this guest. Since he uses a couple of #aliases, this guest may be back. @airbnb tells us that the #information that the guest provides is as good as it gets! 😬
@WSJ Umm, great!? Anything for regular people with regular lives looking for a regular place to stay? There are millions of them. As one of those, I’d appreciate @Airbnb shining a light my way some day, week, month, year, decade.
@chriselliotts Our short-term rentals are along Main Street and a couple blocks away in a neighborhood. Guests can prepare their meals in the kitchen or walk a few minutes to a restaurant, coffee shop or boutique. The city pool is open in the summer. We have pickleball paddles too.
@skift Luxury is where the 🤑 is, no doubt. Many of us in the hospitality community offer destinations and getaways that are much more affordable yet take the just as much extra effort. In other words, when looking at the luxury market, remember to turn around and see the rest of us.
@airdna Here in my small town in central Kansas, 15 out of 19 are considered “Guest Favorites” or 79%. This demonstrates yet again that these accolades from Airbnb break down at smaller destinations. Maybe it’s “Midwest Nice.” Maybe it’s that are hosts are superior in nearly every way.
Recently identified “opportunities for improvement” for @Airbnb ID Verification. My independent #backgroundcheck showed street address as #shoppingcenter. Second phone belongs to someone else. One #alias found too. If this can happen in #smalltownusa, it can happen anywhere.
@AirbnbHelp A guest booked with us but didnt follow rules so it was cancelled. @Airbnb ID has red shield w/check mark. His address is shopping center with @UPS store & other businesses (no residences). He has criminal record - I can provide mugshot. How did @Airbnb miss this?
..."off-the-beaten path" destinations, especially smaller towns, with nightly rates not much more than the average for room only. These hosts need much assistance with defining properties for best category placement. Please review data and ponder! Thanks! @bchesky
@Airbnb 2023 Summer Release highlights Rooms as new category. Searched "United States", clicked on "Filters" for each of 45 categories. Average room: $158; average house: $484 - 188% more. While cheaper, Rooms can still be pricey before fees/taxes. Overlooked niche (as always)...
@bchesky Monthly stays seem focused on digital nomads in larger cities. In my small town, we have monthly stays for POTWAs: professionals on temporary assignments. They’re assigned to work at a manufacturing facility as a specialist or engineer.
@VisitLindsborg@MidwestLiving@OneDelightfulL Time to buy the Best of the Midwest for each of my vacation rental properties including Stenhuset - built in 1877 by Swedish stonemasons. #Bible verses in old #Swedish are carved into stone lintels above its windows.
