As a marketer, I can’t help but wonder how many brands prepped and scheduled their “TikTok is banned” emails, only to be scrambling to hit pause now that the platform is being restored.
The next person who posts a boy boss text quote with trophies, stars or the color red that reads:
“You have the power to unlock your own potential. Be the greatness you needed when you were younger.”
is getting their house broken into so I can unplug their internet.
As someone who studied communication, there is no chance this isn’t intentional. Even if you get more negative responses, please for the love of god tell us what’s happening.
How is @AmericanAir’s new passenger communication just zero communication…
In CLT sitting on the tarmac completely boarded for 42 minutes, no explanation.
In JFK, sitting on the tarmac for 38 minutes, no movement, no communication.
There are two stages of a relationship:
“I want to be close to you at night, let’s keep the queen bed.”

And I’m not bothered by public declarations, I love that part, but why are we addressing the wrong audience? Why aren’t we addressing the hundreds of other people?
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
Can someone please explain to me birthday/holiday IG story posts?
They’re always addressed to the person, but intended for hundreds to see?
4 images in stories back-to-back with phrases like:
“HBD! You’re my ride or die.”
Do you even write this much in their cards?
What is this cultural phenomenon and how and why did it start?
“Happy Father’s Day to the best dad!”
Do all 12 people who posted this have the best dad? It seems like every Father’s Day there should be an all day golf/joke tournament to determine who the best one truly is.
I had an English professor that was very confused at why we made a habit of sorting spoons. He said, “I’m not suddenly going to forget what a spoon looks like so I just stopped sorting mine.” He said that once we paid attention, we would find these things too. This is my spoons.
Please explain to me why men’s Instagram bios are like:
Northwestern MBA ‘18
Queens University ‘15
Sir, NOTHING more interesting has happened to you or about you in the last 5 years?
I just know Stephen and one of his 5 Patagonia jackets are a great time at parties.
Social media marketing is a time suck. Yes, there are ways to do it more efficiently, but these platforms don't make it easy.
I'll literally bounce back from a phone to a laptop for a post.
Marketing agencies every June:
"As a reward for all those 60 weeks, 10PM emergencies and acting like our work is literally going to cure cancer, we want to introduce…
SUMMER FRIDAYS!
If you get all your work done, you can log off at 4PM."
