@_alice_evans My impression is that women's consent in bride kidnappings varies substantially across settings. Among the Nuer and Anuak in Ethiopia, for example, is mostly consensual to reduce bride price. WP paper with @LindseyKNovak on the topic using qual and quant methods coming out soon!
