What do our schools and staff members mean to our students? We're glad you asked. Watch this video from yesterday's George Couros presentation to hear their thoughts. #GilbertPride#TigersTogether

Educational. Inspirational. Funny. Heart-warming. Touching. And so much more. Thank you, @gcouros for speaking to our staff and delivering such a meaningful message this morning. #GilbertCSD
Empowerment should be the goal of our schools and the work that we do. Best morning with @gcouros#GilbertCSD Thank you @gilbert_schools for this opportunity!
Is this the USA? Peaceful protest is American. This mob, or anarchists dressed as protestors, or whomever they are, invading the US Senate & House chambers, is absolutely unAmerican and domestic terrorism. We are better than this. Enough. God save us.
Five years ago today we interviewed Matt and Erica Campbell in Toledo. By the end of the meeting they agreed to be Cyclones. The last five years have been awesome because @ISUMattCampbell has been like this:
@ESPNCFB let’s address the first thing that the winning coach does after @TexasLonghorns K missed the game tying kick as the clock expired. @ISUMattCampbell goes to this kicker and speaks to him obvious words of encouragement. @CycloneFB couldn’t have a classier coach.
Teachers plates are still overflowing. They still have at least five jobs. Teacher, curriculum developer, IT for students, therapist for parents struggling, & office worker. All while trying to take care of their family too. They need grace & support now more than ever.
I don’t know which teachers need to hear this but it is ok to be worried for your health and the health of your family. I don’t know a teacher who ever considered the possibility of a pandemic putting them at risk when they got into teaching. You don’t need to justify your fear.
What if the questions wasn't "should schools reopen?"
What if instead the question was "why have schools become the answer for every problem in society?" childcare, nutrition, health care, mental wellbeing.... Etc
And if we are that answer, why are we not funded as such?
"If teachers give the same assessment and they do nothing with the results, it is not a common assessment." If the assessment is used for instruction, prevention, and intervention, it is a common assessment. @mikemattos65@SolutionTree#mindthegaps#covidslide
I’m convinced that most criticism — the kind of thing that dominates Twitter — is not posted to hurt the target so much as it is to please whomever the critic considers the ‘cool crowd’ … welcome back to 7th grade.
I don't envy any superintendent or district team trying to plan for the fall. My advice would be to just hop on Facebook. Seems like people there have all the answers.
