Home growing your own talented players is a proven strategy to win a Super Bowl.
Going all in is also a proven strategy to win a Super Bowl.
Acting like there’s a right and wrong way between the two is silly. Both work. Both come with significant risks.
RG - “the juggernaut” - gets off the ball, and runs through whoever is in his path
RT “the eraser” may not look pretty, but he finds ways to make problems disappear. #hogfbchat
A4 (all of these are adjustable based on personnel) -
LT “the athlete” traitsy moves smooth.
LG - “the vice grip” a guy that will lock on to someone and squeezes the life out of them.
C “the professor” grizzled leader. Very detailed, highest level of consistency #hogfbchat
Q4: How would you design an offensive line room if position labels (LT, LG, C, etc.) didn’t exist? What traits would define each spot instead? #Hogfbchat
A3 - all 1 on 1s in T shirt and shorts - ego fest guised as “competition” - during the summer there are plenty of opportunities for slowing things for technique when it’s time for competition, I prefer the “highland” games style. Throw things, lift things, pull things. #hogfbchat
Q3: If you had to eliminate one traditional OL Drill and replace it with something unconventional, what would you cut and what would be the replacement? #hogfbchat
A1 - this isn’t exactly a rule, but specifically if you watch hockey players accelerate on skates, it’s akin to how I want my OL driving through the ground off the ball #hogfbchat
@CoachDingus A1: In lacrosse we coached our short stick defensemen to play with their feet first then their hands. If they're reaching or swinging their sticks they're wrong. OL have to play the same way; feet first, hands low to the chest or hips, and drive.

Don’t do this to kids. This data is FALSE.
My program has been responsible for training some of the fastest offensive linemen in Combine history, and many of them were not running 5.0–5.3 on intake from their programs.
Furthermore, the range below represents the mid-to-high range for good to very good NFL offensive linemen. Do better!
