@RamblesRambling@GlasgowCC Me neither but I can see locations in the app (city centre ones in screenshot - there’s Kelvin Hall and Duke St/Bathgate St too).
@FietsDreaming Probably but today is deadline for feedback to @MottMacDonald for this stage. Wasn’t expecting Clyde Metro quickly. Some ambition but patchy IMHO. Medium towns like Barrhead with multiple links. No EK-Hamilton link locks in issues with congestion & patients getting to Hairmyres.
I was in a Clyde Metro webinar the other week. I get that it’s focused on things like links to airport but they talked a lot about ambition and how it wasn’t ‘all routes lead to Glasgow’. That didn’t seem to match up with some of the plans so I decided to write about it… 1/2
@Gaenormoore2@charlesmcgibbon@GlasgowCC Here are some… city centre cordon counts (increasing year-on-year): https://t.co/8K9j1j4Y7a & 13% of all traffic on Victoria Rd in 2023 was bikes (linked into Clyde St/Trongate in city centre by South City Way): https://t.co/jwioUFKGix 👀
All over social media and scribbled on mud-splattered walls right now is a saying: el poble salva al poble – the people save the people. It’s true. I’ll add another: the bicycle saves lives.
My own account of a really catastrophic week in Valencia.
Not finished but can see route starting to appear in StreetView: https://t.co/ZAsZh3uxs7.
When in Dublin years ago our hotel was down there - noise and pollution from road really spoiled area by the river. I think that’s partly why Ha’penny pedestrian bridge was popular…
@theiaincameron Cool map - thanks for link.
Btw: some of the letters you’re reading as ‘f’ are really a ‘long s’. When it’s a double ‘s’ it looks like the ones in German street signs (Strasse written as Straße). See: https://t.co/7FKtdTEyW3
Stumbled on an old visual I did of Cumbernauld Rd from 2019 before Flourishing Molendinar got going (proto-FloMo?). Their great work was catalyst to recent ‘Inner North’ plans in @GlasgowCC City Network. Still something to be said for 1-way lanes on tree-lined section. @AECOM
Great to see @CarlaJEaston support @MrNormanBlake1: my first gig since 2019. No record player so got last CD bundle - hadn’t realised how much was in it. If I can help with my job, graphic design, just let me know (Lanarkshire indie solidarity!). Also, random subway back east.
Duke St Avenues - according to Glasgow Live, construction is due to start in January 2025. Good news if so. https://t.co/5wiW9zDeXK Sod’s Law I’d just said there’d been no info in my response to Dennistoun parking consultation (closes Sunday 13 Oct: https://t.co/h5eulu9XsJ).
@kfullermusic@GoBikeGlasgow@LidlGB Freaked me out cycling my old bike to Evans there for service (pre city centre one). Sounds a bit like @alpinebikes Tiso. Weird wheelbender rack is unusable so have to lock to carrier for kayaks! Across from Sighthill bridge as well… https://t.co/YLiVjVBxeM
Fed up of how rubbish #Lidl Duke St is for cycling. It’s due to have Avenues bike lanes alongside but no bike parking at all. Could easily fit a bike stand next to entrance (and maybe a few more round corner?). Any others in Glasgow worse than this?
