Lama Yeshe Rinpoche and the trustees of Rokpa Trust are very grateful to everyone who joined us in opposing the applications for planning permission for rifle ranges close to Samye Ling. The planners have ruled that the applications are invalid and must be withdrawn.

Our main wish is to be a happy joyful and caring person, but this can't be achieved by changing jobs and getting more money. It is nothing more than a rainbow. The closer you get the further away it becomes. You can never catch it.

The Samye Ling community were very saddened to lose our beloved beautiful father Yak.
For many years we have had a family of Yaks who have been well cared for and now we’re asking if anyone can offer us a Yak. We will have a dedicated Sangha member to take care of him.
Letting go of the conviction that life must be a certain way & accepting the way it actually is, here and now, has helped me. Learning to relinquish my attachments to outcomes, to let go of my desires and purify my negative mind states, has all be beneficial.

We need to accept change. Change happens all the time. If we learn to accept then there're no more problems and suffering.

Sometimes we are so trapped in our conditioning we carry our prejudices & misunderstandings with us wherever we go. Entrenched in our own point of view we are unable & unwilling to understand the ways of others. This attitude can cause problems.

Please also feel free to contact the local planning department to lodge your objections - the closing date for objections is 18 March 2021. A template letter can be found on our website https://t.co/Oo2BbmIqR3
Our precious haven of peace and harmony is under threat of being caught in the noise of gunfire, midway between two high-velocity gun firing ranges. Planning permission is not yet granted but shooting has already begun.

Today is Chötrul Düchen meaning “Great Day of Miraculous Manifestations”. It commemorates the time when Buddha displayed miracles for his disciples་to increase their devotion. It is on this day when positive and negative actions are considered to be multiplied millions of times.
If someone is talking sectarian, we should never listen or follow those people, because that is how war is forged, that is why life is lost. But if everything is teaching loving kindness and forgiveness then this is very beautiful.

Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of Chamgon Vajradhara Khentin Tai Situpa. The monks and nuns and lay community offered 1,000 lamps dedicated to his long life and that his activities to benefit beings continue and increase more and more.

I always say that the mind is the most powerful thing in the world and once we learn how to pay attention to it's wanderings, to train it and nurture it, it will reward us a thousand-fold.

Anyone who is an authentic guru and who accomplishes the activity of a Buddha can be called 'Karmapa' [The one who performs the activity of the Buddhas]. For that reason I think it is fine to recite 'Karmapa Chenno' as a supplication to all the gurus, as taught by Karma Chakme.
Meditation means simple acceptance. How can we talk about being non-judgmental, non-grasping, if we have so many judgements in our mind, expecting certain feelings out of our meditation and completely rejecting some other experiences?

I always say that our minds should be as flexible as a willow tree - the trunk is solid and rooted but the wind can blow the branches in different directions. When our minds are like this we ourselves are healthy and we can help anyone we meet.
