The Mets could use some length from Peterson here - they are playing in their 6th consecutive game tonight and don’t have off until Monday.

On top of this, they have played in 3 extra innings games over the last 5 days. Absolutely brutal.

Peterson went for 16 outs in his first start against Pittsburgh on just 76 pitches. Despite getting hit up a bit, he was pretty efficient, 25 batters faced - gave him a really low P/PA, which is what we love to see.

He was a guy who was consistently in the high 80s to even high 90s last year, so I expect that they can work him up to that tonight, especially in a spot where the BP is decently taxed (20th in pitches thrown over the last 5 games).

This especially since he gets a Giants offense that is pretty swing happy - top 9 in swing % so far this season. They are also bottom half of the league in pitches per plate appearance (13th).

They have only faced one lefty so far this season and it was Max Fried, who went 6.1 IP on 90 pitches to start the year, holding this offense to just a .130 AVG.

In that game, Fried did a great job limiting damage by keeping the ball on the ground, he had 7 ground balls and didn’t allow a hit, run, or base runner on any single one of them.

For David Peterson, this is bread and butter. He had 14 ground balls in his opening start, giving him the 3rd highest ground ball % in the league so far (70%).

This was evident in spring training too, where he had 10 and 12 ground balls in his last two outings.

Giants are seeing the 6th most ground balls this season so far, but batting just 12th against them.

Last season, against LHP, they had the 8th worst batting average and OBP on ground balls.

Expecting a decent showing from Peterson here who went over in 2/2 against the Giants last season on 97 and 91 pitches.

These guys matched up twice last season and went under in both games (19 and 17 points). They are two of the best players in the game, but combined,
they only went over the total 35% of the time last season.

Last season, Tuesday’s only saw 38% of singles matches go over the total, lowest of any match day of the week.

Going right back to our wagon here in AB.

Franz is OUT again tonight for ORL. AB is over this line in 13/13 (100%) of games this season against teams in the top half of the league in pace without Franz Wagner.

Utah is playing at the 3rd fastest pace in the league (4th over the last 10 games).

The books are hanging a massive 238.5 total for this game which is the highest on the slate today and the HIGHEST game total the Magic have seen since December…

That game was ALSO against the Jazz (240.5 total) where AB finished with 11 RA off a solid 16 RA chances.

We should expect plenty of possessions and opportunities for AB to rack up the stats, especially at home where he’s averaging 9.4 RA per game without Franz this season (8.8 on the road).

SGs have been absolutely pummeling Utah lately too:
