Open Letter
To the President of the Russian Federation
From the President of Ukraine
When you came to power in Russia more than 26 years ago, many people in Ukraine viewed you positively. That is how it was. But that is now in the past.
Now, the overwhelming majority of Ukrainians view it positively that our long-range drones paid a visit to the opening of your forum in St. Petersburg, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. As you know very well, that distance is not the limit of our capabilities.
Elixir v1.20 released! Now officially a gradually typed language: Elixir type checks every single line of code, finding bugs and dead code, without developer overhead (no typing signatures) and extremely low false positives rate. Plus a faster compiler! Links and reports below.
PSA: @TencentGlobal is aggressively scraping the Internet to build yet another AI slop chatbot, DDoSing many websites in the process.
We've found that, as of last week, their scraping bots can now solve Cloudflare challenges and behave like real users while ignoring robots.txt. In the last 24 hours alone, our website received more than 3 million successful requests from Tencent bot IP addresses, plus another 1 million that were blocked by Cloudflare challenges.
These recurring DDoS attacks from Tencent have been going on for over a year, and we have been constantly adjusting our firewall rules to filter them while trying not to impact Tencent's real users. Because that is no longer possible, we're now fully blocking Tencent IP addresses, starting with ASN 132203. We recommend other sysadmins do the same.
Other ASNs displaying similar abusive behaviour will also be fully blocked from our services.
We'd also like to thank @Cloudflare for sponsoring us with Project Alexandria as of 2025, giving our sysadmin the tools to keep RPCS3's online services running without service disruptions.
Palantir CEO Alex Karp on how China operates vs the US:
“In the West, we actually care when humans die.”
“China or Russia—Russia’s lost 700,000 people in Ukraine. They don’t care.”
“We don’t care if we lose a piece of steel, we do if we lose a human.”

Xi Jinping’s "unification" fantasy just hit a brick wall of absolute rejection by the people of Taiwan.
A new official poll released by Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council shows that Taiwanese citizens are completely united against Beijing's coercion:
- 87.1% flatly refuse to sacrifice their freedom and democracy for China's "Peaceful Unification" or "One Country, Two Systems" framework.
- 72.6% firmly agree that the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China are independent and not subordinate to each other.
- 88.0% declare that Taiwan’s future must be decided solely by its 23 million people.
- 71.9% strongly support boosting the national defense budget to reinforce self-defense capabilities.
Beijing can issue all the threats it wants, but the data is loud and clear: Taiwan's democracy is not for sale.

What’s sad is that Sony has just built its last TV screen as a fully Japanese company.
After decades of defining what a premium TV could be, the Bravia name is about to belong to China.
This week Sony unveiled the Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II - two stunning high-end sets built around its new True RGB display tech.
They will almost certainly be the final products that Sony designs, builds, and services, entirely on its own.
From now on, control of the whole Bravia TV and home audio business shifts to China's TCL.
TCL paid roughly $470 million for a 51% majority stake, leaving Sony with just 49% and the right to keep its name on the box.
The new operation will even be called "Bravia Inc."
For a brand that once treated televisions as a statement of Japanese engineering pride, this is the quiet end of an era.
The logo will live on but the ownership behind it is changing hands.
Sony Bravia = Chinese owned
Buyer beware. TCL + Hisense captures snapshots of your TV screen (and hoovers up other data) and sends it to China
It is 100% legal in Japan to curse the emperor. In China, your communist country, it's 100% illegal.
If I curse the emperor, people will either agree with me or disagree with me (most will disagree). If I go to China and curse Xi Jinping, it carries the death penalty.
