It was a pleasure taking both Higher classes to the Scottish Parliament this week. The groups saw a ministerial statement, debates on farming and health. There was even an opportunity today for a Q and A with 1 of their 8 elected members.

We had a fantastic morning at the West Lothian School’s Debating Competition! Thrilled to take home the Silver prize. Congratulations to Armadale Academy for securing Gold. Our team exhibited incredible teamwork and sportsmanship. Well done everyone!!

4 pupils attended ‘Elect Her’ today. Session aimed at encouraging young females to get into politics. Led by Depute Leader WLC & all female elected Council members participated. Great opportunity for girls to explore how to get into politics. Feedback on day was really positive!

A great day at the Cabin Crew Experience with Edinburgh College! ✈️ A great opportunity for Travel and Tourism learners to gain invaluable employability skills. They worked so hard and showed great commitment throughout the day. Well done! @LinlithGeoRocks @Linlithgow_Acad

The Higher Modern Studies classes enjoyed a trip to the Scottish Parliament last week. We visited the Debating Chamber and watched part of the afternoon's parliamentary business. Special thank you to @FionaHyslop and @SueJWebber for making time to see us! @LAHumanities_

The Debate Club participated in their first ever Donald Dewar Debating Challenge 🥳 Unfortunately, the team did not make it through to the next round but their first time performances were excellent! They showed great resilience and teamwork - well done! 👏 @LAHumanities_

N5 Modern Studies met with Community Sgt Lee Brodie from Police Scotland this morning 👮‍♂️ An informative chat about the roles, powers and the structure of the Police. Learners also had the opportunity to participate in a Public Order demonstration for crowd control.@LAHumanities_

I suspect GOVT responses for Int Issues topic but not sure. Do you have any hunches for the final exam? Please share if you do! 🧐

Higher Modern Studies class enjoying our new classroom whiteboard walls. Essay writing teams completed pastpaper questions to consolidate their learning and prepare for the final exam. They then peer marked each answer. 👍 @LAHumanities_
