@BlueBren@MurdishawM I took my Father in Law to watch him at the Brindley last year. He was absolutely fantastic. Had a compare for only half the show but barely used him. Carried the packed crowd completely on bis own.
One of my favourite people in football.
@MurdishawM Look at PSG’s first penalty. Or pretty much any German penalty. Ball down, stroll up and sweep the ball home, like water off a ducks back.
Your entire thought process should be on one thing, striking the ball properly. Not the dance on the way to the ball.
Hopefully last night will be the end of the ridiculous hop, skip and jump run-ups to penalty kicks.
Two pathetic run-ups, two missed targets and a whole season’s work is ruined.
@MurdishawM Never a truer word spoken gents. Splashing the cash for a couple of seasons is a bit pointless if the club goes bust in season 3.
Existence first, everything else thereafter 💛💚
@MurdishawM I’m the clubs Grattan Catalogue Manager so take full responsibility for item 2. They tempt you in at £2.50 a week for only 245 weeks and suddenly everything just got out of hand.
We are in a payment plan now though. £7 a week until December 2150
@RuncornLinnets One of the days you dread as a football fan. A genuine club idol moving on. Brooky brought so much more than goals. Energy, charisma, a winning smile, a builder of team spirit. Stood in as manager when we needed one.
His goals record might never be broken. Long live the king 👑
@ben_brumby Bizarre take this.
Everyone knows you won the league, it doesn’t need to be mentioned.
But most will have no idea of the input and free hours that volunteers put in, allowing funds to be invested in the team, that helped that title be won. They should rightly be celebrated.
🏆🍺 | GREAT NIGHT AHEAD!
Dont forget you can still grab your tickets for this weekend's awards evening where we will get the chance to cleebrate the lads who gave us one heck of a season!

@stanners20@leeds_snippets This is brilliant! First time I’ve heard of it!
It wasn’t uncommon back then. I’m sure Italy trained on Canal Street during Euro 96
@simmo_on_sport@jonurkey@KarlKavanagh69@RuncornLinnets It was one of our recent managers 3-4 years ago who asked if it was possible for the club to enroll in the Liverpool Senior Cup for additional competitive football to keep the squad fresh.
Prior to that I don’t think we had ever entered it in the clubs Linnets era.
@PaulRoo6Times@simmo_on_sport a manager think players will react to being dropped in the playoffs after 35 games for a lad who is making his debut?
It is an easy fix, X number of appearances before you play in any semi finals onwards. But I alas agree that it’s not going to happen.
@PaulRoo6Times@simmo_on_sport I’ve not really noticed it before, because playoffs didn’t exist when we were at Step 5 and we never got deep into to consider a Vase final.
But having read a lot this week, I think it’s a vile practice. As you (and many others including players themselves) have said, how does
There’s been a lot of interesting discussion on here the past couple of days regarding the playing of “effective ringers” in playoff matches.
This does sound like a loophole that needs to be closed.
Keen to hear your thoughts @simmo_on_sport
@EdkinsO_ This seems to come up every single year.
The team that finishes second gets home advantage in the playoffs. We all know that from Day 1 of the season. If you want home advantage and a bigger following of your own supporters in the final, then finish second in the league.
