@ruigeknakworst@_josephine0_ "I do things because i want to not because I have to" is an interesting take. 'Because I feel internal motivation, there is no external obligation' is all very well, but 'I pay taxes because I want to avoid prison' doesn't have the same ring of personal liberty, does it?
@EMCHEESQUARE@HalfwayPost But, despite all the trappings of American male success, Trump is a git.
Trump's money is unethically gained, Trump's wife won't even allow him to hold hands and Trump's fame is rooted in infamy โ yet this is the creature you look up to.
@_josephine0_ Another loser who not only didn't comprehend the response, but who then takes a fragment and hides behind the block button to ensure they have the last word.
Sad.
@KozmicFizz@ruigeknakworst@_josephine0_ Oh I seeee.
Yes. My mistake, using a shorthand term there.
The first example is a more capitalistic way of considering the issue: the consumer pays more.
The alternative proposal is that a putative business team would sacrifice profit to benefit staff,learning left economically
@_josephine0_ Here's the problem: how does management motivate front of house workers to smile?
It's either loyalty to staff and good pay, or fear of no pay.
The latter is easiest.
@ruigeknakworst@_josephine0_ You pay for the cost of the food and the kitchen staff; would you be happier if the bill was higher but you weren't expected to pay the wait staff? Or are you more left-leaning and think the bosses should skim less and pay staff so tips aren't needed?
@dickandtinasson@_josephine0_ Well, you pay for the food and the kitchen staff, but I admit it is inconvenient to have to pay your waiting staff directly.
Some sort of system where everybody pays more for their visit and the wait staff don't get tips but receive a better wage seems to be a good idea.
@0ivankaTrump1 Totally D. D for Donald. D for Damn, but this ... Thing doesn't even have the decency to apologize for the skunk-spray of self-serving actions and vile attitudes he leaves in his wake.
