After 30+ years, the author confirms Conan’s ending is already waiting 🥲
During a recent television appearance, Detective Conan creator Gosho Aoyama once again confirmed that he has already drawn the “name,” or storyboard, for the manga’s final chapter. When asked about eventually bringing the story to an end, Aoyama casually responded that the final chapter is already planned, even jokingly asking if they wanted to see it before adding that it is “interesting.”
It does not mean Conan is ending immediately. The storyboard is essentially the blueprint for the finale rather than a completed final chapter.
What makes the moment hit differently is just how long this mystery has lasted. Detective Conan began serialization in 1994, while its anime is now celebrating 30 years on television. Aoyama even admitted he originally thought the series would end quickly and only realized how deeply audiences loved Conan after the first movie.
After more than three decades of mysteries, Aoyama already knows how Conan’s final case ends. The only mystery left is when we’ll finally see it.

BREAKING: Hideo Kojima's upcoming Physint, a potential spiritual successor to Metal Gear, will now be published by Xbox and not PlayStation. Kojima's new deal with Xbox also includes future film and TV projects. https://t.co/AUUltGTj5P
An update from PlayStation Studios: After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to step away from collaborating with KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS on its project PHYSINT. We continue to have great admiration for Hideo Kojima's vision for the game.
Our relationship remains strong after three decades of industry-leading, genre-defining creative cooperation, and we look forward to continued close collaboration with Hideo Kojima and his award-winning independent studio in the future.
