Lion Latch was one of the first TikTok Shops to open in March of 2023, and the experience was incredible. TikTok Shop invited me to Cannes, France, to speak on a panel, I met the CEO in Austin, and the platform skyrocketed my brand’s awareness. I will always be grateful for that opportunity. However, my TikTok journey started long before TikTok Shop—this summer marks five years of posting on the app nearly every day.
There were days in 2020 when a viral TikTok would drive 100 sales to my website. As a full-time teacher, 100 Lion Latch orders felt absolutely amazing! TikTok taught me that I’m a storyteller at heart. Over time, those stories led to sales, and the sales allowed me to leave my teaching job, open a Lion Latch headquarters, hire a team and bring new travel products to the market.
But when discussions about a potential TT ban began last year, I took it as a sign to diversify. The result? My videos now go just as viral on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube too!
As for the ban? I don’t know what will happen. If TikTok gets shut down, I’ll miss the storytelling, laughs, and hacks—but it’ll be okay. TikTok users and my followers will migrate to other platforms, and it’s my job to meet them there!
Lion Latch to the max! 🦁💍 🚀

We want to ban @TikTok but not TEMU?! Temu is stealing American invented products, the money in American’s hacked bank accounts and being investigated for spying and forced labor. @GrantCardone
@TODAYshow don’t forget they steal American invented and patented products the moment they see success- national tv or viral videos 👎 Temu faces 2 class-action lawsuits over data privacy concerns https://t.co/H2Vj4CbmSX via @TODAYshow
