AKIL BADDOO WALK-OFF WINNER -- THIS GUY CAN DO NO WRONG

[Detroit Tigers @tigers]

AKIL BADDOO FOR THE WIN

[Bob Nightengale @BNightengale]

Fernando Tatis Jr. is undergoing an MRI this morning to determine the severity of his dislocated shoulder and possible labral tear, per @sdutKevinAcee. If surgery is recommended, he would miss the entire season. Huge blow to the #Padres. Even bigger blow to the entire sport.

[Jason Beck @beckjason]

Three first-inning strikeouts for Casey Mize in his season debut, capped by a 96 mph fastball past Max Kepler to strand Nelson Cruz on first. 16 pitches, 12 strikes.

[Jason Beck @beckjason]

Akil Baddoo just added a grand slam to his home run from yesterday, again to the opposite field. 15-6 game.

[Detroit Tigers @tigers]

Still won the series.

[Chris McCosky @cmccosky]

Strong work by Daniel Norris. Got Rosario to ground out (run scored) and struck out RHH Franmil Reyes with an evil change-up. 3-2 Tigers.

[Chris McCosky @cmccosky]

Sorry, he homered on the first big-league PITCH

[Jason Beck @beckjason]

Akil Baddoo's first MLB pitch ends up in Tigers bullpen. His spring continues into the regular season. 3-1 Tigers.

[Chris McCosky @cmccosky]

OK, this dream isn't going to end. Akil Baddoo, in his first big league at-bat, homered to left.

[tigermike1975 @tigermike1975]

Miggy with a slow tapper but enough to get Castro home with the infield in....2-0 good guys! #detroitroots

[Chris McCosky @cmccosky]

Willi Castro got a high change-up from Zach Plesac and blasted it into the LCF gap, scoring Candelario from first. Good on Willi to recognize and sit on off-speed on 3-2 pitch

Major League Baseball is moving this summer’s All-Star Game from Atlanta’s Truist Park in response to Georgia enacting a new law last month restricting voting rights. https://t.co/v3HJaLxQSh

AND @SVogt1229 GOES YARD FOR THE LEAD!

[Home Run Tracker @DingerTracker]

#Dbacks 7 @ #Padres 6 [T5-2o]:

Stephen Vogt homers (1): fly ball to RF(solo)

Hit: 394ft, 104.5mph, 27°🚀

Pitch: 91.5mph Four-Seam Fastball (LHP Tim Hill, 2)

[Dan Dickerson @Dan_Dickerson]

What an Opening Day - fans in the stands, Miggy hits a big HR early thru a swirling snowstorm, Boyd strong in 5.2 shutout innings....#Tigers find a way to beat Bieber and the Indians, 3-2.

[Bob Nightengale @BNightengale]

The #Nats' three positive, and possibly four positive is the biggest Covid-19 outbreak for an #MLB team since the St. Louis Cardinals last August.

[Detroit Tigers @tigers]

FINAL: Tigers 3, Indians 2.

A #TigersWin is even sweeter on #OpeningDay!

[Jason Beck @beckjason]

Tigers announce paid attendance at 8,000, which is a sellout under the circumstances.
