@MetCC probably nothing but… outside the globe theatre. A whole row of bin bags with wires… they are attached to lights, but, seems odd. Maybe they been there for ages and I never noticed, in which case, I apologise.
Our expert SAR crews train at sea, in the mountains and... in the centre of London!
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station on Lifeboat Pier, the Thames, is the busiest in the UK. So we train with them just as we do many others all across the UK.
.@TowerRNLI ran the 2021 London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for their new station. A half marathon is already a challenge, but the crew went the extra mile by aiming to run the fastest time ever in full kit. 👏

We’re now onto a category that’s very close to our heart, the Young Achiever of the Year, sponsored by @Eizo_Global - the winner is Jules Fynn from @MCA_media
Today we launched two new state-of-the-art fire boats that will help keep Londoners safe.
This is part of a £40m City Hall investment to expand and modernise
@LondonFire.
I was delighted to visit Lambeth River Station today to see first-hand @LondonFire’s new state-of-the-art fire boats.
The new boats are a part of my £40m investment to expand and modernise the Brigade to ensure it is better equipped to fight fires and keep Londoners safe.
Earlier @MayorofLondon welcomed new fire boats to the #Thames as part of an investment to expand our fleet of equipment & vehicles. They're named after Auxiliary Fireman Harry Errington & Auxiliary Firewoman Gillian Tanner -both awarded WWII bravery medals https://t.co/qgxeaPcjQr
Did you know that the UK's busiest lifeboat station is based right here on the Thames in London? As the @RNLI celebrates its 20th year on the river, we went to visit the incredible staff and volunteers at @TowerRNLI to see what working on the country's most active station is like
Different view for us. Training for the rear seat TFO's is complete and yes they passed 👍🙂. Team work with all our blue light family.
Good tip to never stand to near the front of the boat #wetshoes@LondonFire
We have just completed the 9000th call since we started back in Jan 2002. Despite the global events and restricted travelling for a lot of the year we have still had a busy year. None of this would be possible without all the supports of @RNLI and our amazing Volunteer Crew
Night 3 and joining myself and Dave tonight is @HartFrancis. A steady start to the shift with a team dinner shortly followed by a call to Tower Bridge with our friends @MPSonthewater. Positive and swift outcome thanks to @CityPolice so back to station #TimeForACuppa
‘The facts do not support the case for cruelty.’ Every word of this. Please take four minutes of your day to watch Lord Kerr expose the Johnson Patel lying stance for the sado-populism it is.
Trainee members of @hm_coastgaurduk came to see our patch to understand what’s at the other end of the radio during SAR operations
When they finish training, Jools & Hannah will be part of a network of emergency services working together to keep the #thames safe 24/7
