I now understand exactly what you are talking about. I am a proud gay, and I won’t let anyone take that away from me.
I hope you see this, as you’ve been so kind to me in recent years.
Thank you for always standing up for us, and I am happy to have you on our side.

Dear Jo,
I hope you see this.
I came out as lesbian today as the first day of pride month. I had experienced so much inner hatred towards my own identity, being bullied in high school (by peers and family), so it’s going to take a while to come back to myself. ~
As I was figuring this part out about myself, a trans femme person in our Harry Potter/Strike community encouraged me not only to break up with my girlfriend, but once I had to make them stop, they started sending sexual pictures of themselves and talking about sex toys.
@clharrington024 That’s such a lovely message and reminds me of the night I went to say goodnight to my nine year old son, who I found with Half Blood Prince face down on his duvet, and who said to me solemnly, ‘why did you kill Dumbledore?’
@jk_rowling Does a hug gif *and* an ‘x’ mean we’re best friends now? I have promised my mom, however, not to wake her up unless there’s a centipede or unless you like a tweet of mine. I think we’d both prefer it to not be the centipede.

We need to stop pretending the movies were perfect adaptations. They sucked in a lot of ways.
Just to list a few things they fucked up off the top of my head:
-Ruined Ron in favor of Hermione
-Ginny was not Ginny
-Made HBP a comedy when it should have been the second or third darkest film
-Removed all the mystery aspects from GOF when it was written as a mystery book
-Removed almost all of the Voldemort memories (one of the most important parts of the main villain)
-Didn’t get the Quidditch World Cup
-Missed 80% of Quidditch games at Hogwarts
-Made those who haven’t read the books want Harry & Hermione together (Have Steve Kloves to thank for that)
-Took away Grindelwald’s redemption in favor of making him tell Voldemort to kill Dumbledore instead
-Completely changed Sirius’s character in OOTP
And I could list 50 other things that they didn’t have time to cover, and I’ll probably think of another 20 things they messed up if I actually sit down and think about it. The movies were great, but let’s not pretend they’re perfect.

@jk_rowling Because @jk_rowling is about to get incredibly popular again on this bird app…thank you for creating Harry Potter. I know ive said it several times…but this series based on the books is a dream come true. Thank you for our childhoods!!
@jk_rowling This is the most wholesome thing on the internet today.
Somewhere there's a mum reading this, heart absolutely bursting.
And somewhere there's a grown adult who sat on a train, silently gripped by Harry Potter again, reminded that great storytelling has no age limit.
My feed is full of people either:
- realising how smart Harry was
- sharing illustrations of Harry
- supporting @jk_rowling
- wishing each other happy Easter
It’s absolutely brilliant
Today. I remember @jk_rowling saying: « the stories we love best do live in us forever. Whether you come back by page or by the screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home. » Today, the small screen is ready. Those words resonate more than ever ! #HarryPotter
