Just finished #Upright season 2. Milly Alcock, @timminchin and Asmara Feik have made my heart very happy. A beautifully written series about love, heartbreak, family and hope with an amazing cast. You got me again at the end. Hoping for a third season. π€
@cbcreative@lucysmallbark Raising his glass in a silent toast he watched her cross the room. She smirked as she sidled up to her new husband, her wedding ring glinting in the sun as stroked his face. He recalled their
wedding day & smirked back as he pulled out his phone & cancelled her alimony. #WriteCBC
#WriteCBC task from @AlexHayBooks: Choose a distinctive setting (e.g. university, work, a childhood home or a holiday destination). Write a scene where your character is leaving that place for what could be the last time. Why are they leaving? How do they feel about departing?
@cbcreative@AlexHayBooks The smell lingers. Cologne, coffee & tinned ham. Distinctly him. It wasn't a warm or welcoming home, but he was here. Sitting in his armchair, radio on, full volume, cantankerous. I almost choke on the memory, too full in this now empty space. This shell, leaves me numb.#WriteCBC
#WriteCBC task from @HeatherDarwent: Write a scene showing an angry protagonist. Maybe it's a sudden burst of uncontrollable emotion, or perhaps it's a slow building anger but try and make sure the reader feels the rage! Good luck.
@cbcreative@HeatherDarwent Nostrils flaring and breathing hard, my hand curled around the poker. I eased it from its stand using both hands once I realised the weight.
I watched as my Da rained punches on my mam yet again. I felt dizzy and damp with sweat as I struck out at him with all my might. #WriteCBC
@cbcreative@amitaparikh The glass felt cool against her skin as she raised her eyes to watch the clouds speed by. Lois misted the window with her breath, traced her initials and flopped dramatically back in her seat. She eyed her water but knew her bladder wouldn't last if she chanced it. Damn!#WriteCBC
@cbcreative Drawn to the light like a moth, he stared unblinkingly into the ethereal blue glow pulsing silently above his head. How had he come to be here, on this street?
He felt the breath being stolen from his lungs as a vaguely familiar voice blew in on the breeze.
"Don't go."#WriteCBC
